harbouring

went to visit my old friend jules today. the trip across the harbour is always good for the soul and that in turn energises the body. we had a delicious yum-cha lunch at manly wharf then spent the afternoon catching up on a years worth of gossip.

feeling poorly

stayed home today as i felt vile and it was too much effort to get out of bed. apart from crampy guts, i feel like i have been kicked from one end of town to the other and fear i'm on the way down with a lurgy of some sort. slept most of the day and will be off to bed again soon. this is how i feel right now - i'm needing a hug...

i'm needing a hug...

mystery key

feeling a little disconnected today. could be a 'blah' alert or just a result of madly cramping guts. i spent most of the day wanting to either cry, dry heave or both. 'tmi' i suppose, but that was my day.

mystery key

You are a mysterious little brass key. Everyone knows you open something, but no one is quite sure what. Don't worry, though; as long as people keep trying, they'll eventually figure out what you have to offer.
What sort of key are you and what do you unlock?

so-so

a so-so day at work. still too much to do and not enough hours in the day.

a few quiet drinks and chinatown dinner with mwk tonight - another online friend comes to life. a very relaxed evening with good company.

mahogany

not a terribly exciting day today... guess what i did?? if you said 'went to work, came home, got on the net', you'd be right!!

i did get the bus home from work with miss e, so that was a bonus. i have also put a mahogany brown colour through my hair to hide the ever encroaching grey...

fear of flying?

for the first time ever, i did not have a minor panic attack during the take off section of my flight home from brisbane!! i will admit to feeling a little queasy as we bumped our way through some clouds, but i did not have the armrest gripping desire to close my eyes and disappear! no guarantees it will never happen again but i was proud of myself today! i still felt the usual utter joy as the wheels touched down at the other end - that is a feeling that i will always want to happen.

i can highly recommend blogmeets. it was so lovely to spend time with someone i have only previous known in the virtual plane. nisi is just as fun to chat to in real time as she is to chat with online. now when we chat, i'll have an updated mental picture of her surroundings.

monday madness! otto says 'It's spring here in Michigan, but the weather today does not reflect that. My inspiration for this week's questions came from my mom suggesting the subject be SPRING! Thanks, Mom!! And thank you all for playing!! =)'

1. What season are you in right now?
autumn
2. Do you celebrate anything special this time of year?
not really - perhaps the end of summer...
3. Name 3 things that come to mind when you think of spring (or your current season)?
spring? restless, move house, change jobs.
autumn? cooler, get to wear long sleeve, daylight saving ends

4. In the current season, about how many hours of the day are daylight hours?
i don't know...
5. Do you do any 'spring cleaning?'?
not really
6. Do you wash your own car or take it to the car wash?
neither, don't have a car
7. Do you hang your laundry out on a clothesline on nice days?
no, i cannot be sure that it wont be stolen...

...and the following is optional; although I do encourage you
   to participate:
   8. Post a picture that reflects the current season where
   you live.

sunshine, lollipops & rainbows (without the lollipops...)

weeeee!! i am having a great weekend on the sunshine coast even if it has rained a lot. nisi and her family are totally adorable. the party last night was a lot of fun, although i was a bit daunted by being with 70 complete strangers. today we went down to the beach - so beautiful, so deserted, so fine! i wish i could find a beach like it in sydney! i'll be back home tomorrow - i wish i could stay on holidays forever...

an 11 weekend which is 110% of the RLWDHA. a million bazillion gazillion bonus points because i have spent the weekend playing with nisi's and her neighbour's dogs!!

divas and goddesses

as Susan would say: 'So Happy It's Thursday!!!'

had lunch with gjc today - for once it was not windy and raining like it usually is whenever we make plans to meet - the weather goddess was looking out for us.

i am sooooooooooo looking forward to my long weekend adventure to meet nisi and help her celebrate her birthday. i wish i could meet every person on my blogroll. has anybody else met any of their blog friends in 'the real world'?

two little ducks

not much to report yesterday so i didn't bother. the usual, go to work, come home, get on the net...

today was not much different except i rushed home to do some washing and then went to bingo with mrs jane. we didn't win bingo but did win a chook and a lamb roast in the meat raffle. i scored the lamb roast - i've been craving roast lamb lately, so that will be very nice indeed. we were a little bit naughty and put $5 each in a one armed bandit - we were lucky enough to walk away with $35 each...

the reason i rushed home to do some washing?? i need clean clothes for the weekend as i am going off to the sunshine coast for my first real live blogmeet. i'm going to visit nisi to attend her 40th birthday party!! i am sooooo looking forward to this weekend!!!

my head has exploded

my team leader bought herself a new printer/scanner/fax the other day and very kindly offfered me her old printer and scanner. (hey shirl, i recall making a comment on your blog the other day about getting access to a scanner... the universe was reading...) i gratefully accepted this kind offer and today she came over to deliver them. i have installed them but need to work out how to make them work - i have been too busy being distracted by boychat tonight to work it out properly. i'll have a go tomorrow when i am offline...

i was also the beneficiary of another generous workmate today. i told you the other day that all staff were given a double movie pass in appreciation of the smooth transition of the new client. one of the girls in the office gave her two tickets to miss e because she was not likely to use them as she never goes to the cinema. miss e very generously shared her good fortune with me and we went to see 'the life aquatic with steve zissou' - a very funny film that i highly recommend to you. bill murray just gets better with age and willem dafoe is fabulous - i never knew he could do comedy!
