woot!!!

labour day long weekend here in beautiful sunny sydney - three days of unadulterated me time!!

i'm so glad it is friday. my brain is fuller than full. after finalising the training, we had a long lunch and then went back to the office for a tour of the the building and a meet & greet with the managers. i spent the rest of the afternoon with my team and there were drinks and our department's manager did a presentation on how he expects things to happen under the new structure. the team seem really nice but shy susan took over so i did not hang around long. my comfort zone has been pummelled lately and i did not have the energy for it to be stretched any further. there is still a lot to learn as far as procedures and products go but that will be ok and i'm looking forward to getting stuck into some real work on tuesday.

the lovely miss e got in early this morning scored us some tickets to see franz ferdinand again - this time at the enmore theatre. they are not playing until january 2006, so i have plenty of time to decide what to wear...

lovely and hot but not naked!!

nothing terribly exciting happening, just lots of training. i got 100% on two asssignments and 85% for another. i think i did ok in the exam today - will know tomorrow. learning managed investments over the next two days - that could totally overload my brain - arrgghh!!

an interesting search term found my wee bloggy today - 'pictures of lovely naked hot chicks'... each individual word was used in the month of january 2005 but not in the same sentence or post... i so hope the seeker of pictures of lovely naked hot chicks was not disappointed...

when i'm 64

another day of nothing much to report.

more training - all about retirement income streams - very brain taxing and i might never use it in my day to day tasks. it is fun all the same, especially when my poor deluded brain cells finally accept and comprehend some esoteric concept. i hope i can say the same thing on wednesday evening - there are two more days of age pensions and taxation - woohoo!!

monday madness! otto says ' It's Monday again; time for new questions! Thank you, Tricia, for the first 4 questions below. Let's play!'

2. What's your favorite board game? i adore board games but would have to nominate scrabble as the favourite.
3. Do you play video games? If yes, what game system(s) do you use? no
4. If you were given a chance to change your name, would you do it? If yes, what would your new name be? no, i like the name i have
5. What are the last 2 blogs that you've visited? Please share the links with us so we can check them out. spazzymoto's revenge and viper squad ten
6. What's your biggest frustration? people who forget to think before they act.

more magic

up bright and early to get the washing done before going off to see the magician - a film about a hitman made in documentary style - it was ok but dragged a bit in the middle. i lay down on the couch this afternoon to watch my life without me but ended up nodding off and missing most of it. what i saw was good so i will have to watch it again. apart from all that, there is not much else exciting to report.

magic

a rather fine saturday.

i spent the day with miss e - we had coffee in randwick then did a spot of shopping in bondi junction.

i have omitted to tell you that miss e and i had a falling out just over a week ago but i am happy to tell you that it is all sorted out now.

tomorrow we are off to see the magician, one of the filmink freebies for this month - we are very lucky to have two in the current edition!

there nothing like a day spent at the mall followed by an outing to the cinema to rebuild the bonds of friendship.

forgetful

despite the fact that i know i will love my new job, i am sooooooooo glad this week is over. my brain is full. back to training all of next week and the following monday the real work will begin. basically the whole department is going through a total restructure and all the current teams will be changed and moved. i have met some people who will be in my team and i'm hoping one of the girls in training will be in the team too. we get along quite well and it will be nice to have a buddy who is also new. it will be interesting to see where we all end up.

oops! oops! oops! i forgot to go mad!! better late than never!!

monday madness! otto says ' Good Monday morning! Please answer the following questions in your blog and don't forget to come back and leave us your link! Thanks for playing...'

1.:: When you're stressed out, what do you do to relieve your stress? stomp about, play loud music and sing along (badly), cry, swear, have comfort eating binges (sometimes all at once!)
2.:: Are you normally a patient person, or is patience NOT one of your virtues? um, i am mostly patient but only up to a certain point; after that, you don't want to test it...
3.:: How many times a week do you blog? at least daily, sometimes twice
4.:: How many memes a week do you participate in? just two, monday madness and unconscious mutterings
5.:: Describe the perfect day, weather-wise. cool in the morning (about 15°C), followed by a dry sunny day with a maximum temp of about 23-24°C, with a light breeze and the occasional fluffy white cloud drifting across a dazzlingly blue sky. pretty much like it has been lately here in beautiful downtown sydney.
6.:: Would you rather be too hot, or too cold? too cold - you can always put on more clothes and turn up the heater.
7.:: Do you eat out often, and if so, what type of restaurants do you frequent? no, but when i do, it is usually thai, vietnamese or japanese - cheap and cheerful.
8.:: If you could run your own business, what type of business would it be? cafe/bookstore or dog grooming salon

sorted

after a bad start, thursday turned out ok. there was the same confusion about what to do with me but eventually it was sorted. i now know where to be and what i'll be doing. yeah! i even have my id card (with the standard ugly photo) so i can actually gain access to the floor i'm on rather than relying on the kindness of strangers or tailgating behind someone who has a pass.

only a 2 day which is 20% of the RDDHA, but a bazillion bonus bones as the two were a pair of adorably cute maltese terrier/chihuahua cross puppies in the mid-city centre pet store. i had to go up there at lunchtime for a doggy vision because the morning bus trip yielded a big zero!

compliant

gah!! it's all a bit disorganised which is stressing me just a little bit. i turned up for training this morning (it is being held offsite) only to find that i did not have to be there as i have already done the course with the previous employer. i was sent back to the office, where, of course, they were not expecting me. i ended up spending the morning watching as another girl did her work and just seeing the systems they use. woohoo!! there is an imaging system, so all the work comes to your desktop electronically!! after lunch, i was sitting with another guy and after watching what he did for a while, i processed some account withdrawals. it was quite fun. i have no idea what will happen for the next few days - because i was supposed to be in training for the rest of the week and beyond, they have not got a system login or a desk for me as yet. tomorrow, i'll just turn up and do what they ask.

despite the stress, this job is going to be good for my health! i was very spoilt in the last few months - one small block from the morning bus to the office and a quick skip across the street in the afternoon. now, it is at least 6 blocks walk in the morning and because i absolutely hate having to stand in the bus going home (or not get my choice of seat), i have been walking down to circular quay to get the bus home. this means 6 blocks with enough of an incline to make me puff a bit, followed by about 4 blocks down to the quay. my pedometer does not quite know what has happened to it!! it is reaching figures never seen before!! there is also a company gym in the basement and it only costs $8 per week - i might as well capitalise on all the good work the walking will be doing and go crunch some abs or whatever it is that you do at a gym...

go the distance

still here somewhere... have not actually done any work yet... full on training for at least two weeks and i'm not sure i will go the distance. it is amazing how exhausting it can be to sit in a room and listen and 'participate'. i've had to have an evening nap both night's this week as it is impossible to stay awake.

just in case you are wondering, the tea spill does not appear to have damaged anything so i can continue to turn the tv on for background noise and ignore the rest :)

a very quiet weekend, conserving my energy for my big day tomorrow. yippee!!

6.30pm update:: i have just spilt tea all over the tv, dvd, video & digital set top box and my dvd collection. damn!! there is tea in the powerboard so i wont be turning it back on anytime soon. i'll buy a new powerboard tomorrow. i was going to have a night away from the the computer but with no tv, i guess i'll just have to spend the night on the net *sigh*

i have been able to catch up with a lot of work this week - it is amazing how quickly people can provide longstanding missing information when you tell them that you're leaving and wont be there to follow up for them...
