time flies

the ever lovely shirl tagged me for this one and provided the quiz that follows...

what I was doing:
10 years ago:
1995? living in domestic bliss with the knucklehead ex (in his pre-knucklehead days)
working for the insurance company out at homebush (where it is my belief that the shocking air condtioning system caused my first bout of viral meningitis)
oblivious to how different my life would be 5 years later...

5 years ago:
2000? still living with the knucklehead ex who had now moved on to his total fucknuckle stage
he had decided that he wanted to have an 'open relationship' and was shagging the girlfriend of one of his good friends
pity he told me about this after the fact
i was a different person then - i took the blame and tried to fix/save our relationship
eventually, i saw the light (or was it just the blank indifference in his eyes and on his face) and left him
it was the bravest thing i had done in my life and the wisest
terrified at how much my life had changed

1 year ago:
2004? the year i finally shook off most the shackles of the past and started having a real life again
still some work to be done but at least i'm moving forward, rather than stagnating in the past
amazed at how much nicer my life is now

yesterday:
(this response can pretend to be yesterday's post...)
went into town with miss e. our original plan was to see faker doing an instore appearance at the hmv store. the street press had advertised this as happening at 1pm, the signs in the store advised it would be 2pm. rather than waste an hour we both bought a dvd (human traffic for me and my life without me for miss e) and wandered off to paddy's market so miss e could exchange a vest that she had bought there the day before. we had a very tasty vietnamese lunch and then got the bus to newtown to see the july filmink freebie, tarnation. a kind of 'my life' documentary and very interesting (even if the jumpy/jerky titles were very annoying and eyestraining). it will be worth a second look on dvd.
