i'm sure he is kind enough to share them with everybody else who drops by.

nondescript
another day where nothing happens. woke up, went to work, went to the supermarket (now there's a deviation from the norm!), came home, got on the net. how exciting.
the mood is still up. in the supermarket, there was a man and his young daughter in the queue behind me - they only had a packet of mini snickers bars while i had a basket full of vegetables. kind susan fought her way past grumpy susan and let them be served before me - the smiles on their faces made it worthwhile.
i challenge all of my visitors to do something nice for a total stranger today and report back to me.
failure to do this will mean no nice smiles to cheer your day
and just because i've been so boring lately, here are some fun blog games for you to play

weekend wrap-up
where do i start? my week went a bit downhill after my last post...
stupid girly pains struck on friday morning, bad enough that i ended up not going to see the panics on friday night - i cried when i told miss e i would not be up to it and i cried again when i got home - such a sook...
felt better enough on saturday to front up for some overtime - again, i only do it for the money - 6.5 hours work will add 13 hours pay to my pocket. did not do much with the rest of day but managed to stay up until 3am this morning, engaged in .
after a well deserved sleep-in until midday (the joy of having the blind down, the curtains drawn and the alarm firmly in the 'off' position), i managed to get the washing done, a brief spot of and then walked down to coogee with miss e. as usual, the fresh air and oceanic closeness has restored my spirits. despite the fact that the weather has turned decidedly wintery, i should walk the walk more often.

almost time to panic...
another exciting day... well, not really... the usual - get up, go to work. i did change course slightly and did 2.5 hours overtime because i was on a roll with two particularly messy accounts. they are looking much neater now so there will be less to stress about (for a few days at least...)

tell us how you really feel
meh! i have let a complete fool make a complete fool of me.
a certain disappearing / reappearing person used his wily snake-oil peddler charms and i fell for it. would it surprise you if i told you he has disappeared again? i have tried to make allowances as he has had some recent family dramas but that is no excuse for standing me up and not having the decency to call to cancel or plead some idiotic excuse. the problem is that i knew this would probably happen as it is not like he has not done it before. i am more angry with myself for falling for his particular brand of charm again. this temporary lapse of reason on my part has pushed me back into old, useless behaviour of my own; shutting down and holding in my feelings. not any more...
FUCK YOU, YOU'RE THE LOSER IN THIS ONE!
/vent
so, how was your tuesday? mine was ok.
p.s. happy 21st birthday to my nephew, michael :) - all of my babies are growing up :(
p.p.s. don't you think it is about time you had your own audioscrobbler account?

8. ...witnessed a tornado/earthquake/hurricane first-hand? um, depends... when the newcastle earthquake happened in 1989, the building i worked in here in sydney shifted on it's foundations and moved about 2-3 inches in one direction and then back again. in reality, i would say i have not witnessed it first hand but we sure did feel it.
9. ...participated in a photo scavenger hunt? no, but only because i have no idea what to do...
10. ...traveled to another country? yes, indeedy...

early bird
made it into work by 8am and worked until 3.30pm - another day spent under the wall of sound while bashing madly at my keyboard.
went over to miss e's for dinner and a gossipfest tonight. i know i bang on about this but i hope everyone on the planet has a friend like her, a true treasure. we had spicy pumpkin dip and soya crisps washed down with pink champagne for starters, lovely lasagne with a nice bottle of rose for dinner and finished up with rather divine passionfruit cheesecake and banoffi pie. (it was my job to provide dessert - i cheated and bought a piece of each of these lovely creations from zellini's and they were absolutely delicious!!) it has been ages since we've had a fun saturday night of good food, good wine and good gossip. always a great way to spend any evening.

a bit of a panic...
...a guy from the metro theatre called and left a message on my mobile phone about an 'admin problem' with my bloc party ticket purchase... eek!!! i prepared for the worst possible scenario - we no longer had tickets... as it turned out, instead of two tickets, i had four - the first 'failed' purchase attempt did actually get through. *sigh* heart attack averted... after sorting out that little mess, miss e and i got online this morning and made sure we got our doves tickets.
the line up for our live listening pleasure in the immediate future:
may 27 : the panics : the vanguard
july 19 : doves : metro theatre
july 21 : bloc party : metro theatre
july 29 : interpol : enmore theatre
i don't know which one i'm looking forward to more!!!
an altogether good day:
bloc party ticket crisis sorted
doves tickets obtained
very productive workday without having to justify my workflow management existence
a poets day early mark to make sure i got to the post office in time to...
collect a mystey parcel containing books and a cd - thanks nisi!!!
a million visitors via bacon & ehs - thanks kim!!
left my wallet and id card at work (doh!!) but miss e bought them home for me
did i hear the word 'happy'???

mini weekend
i had a lovely day off:
slept in until just after 9am
mooched around the net for a while
made some phone calls to sort out some appointments and stuff
went into the city to deposit a cheque into my bank account
got the bus to newtown to pick up my dvd prize
bought some yummy sourdough bread rolls
got another bus to coogee and had a look at the ocean
came home via zellinis with a large soya mocha
more net navigation
snuggled up on the couch to watch another of my borrowed dvds, pure
leftover risotto for dinner
back on the net :)
wishing i could have a mini weekend every week...
only two more days of grind then the real weekend is back
